With Valentine’s Day just a week away, conversations turn to love, gifts and ways to make all that lovin’ even better. Sure, Oysters, Ginseng, even booze have been in mix for years, but if you’re like us here at Oregon’s Finest, you know combining Cannabis and Sex is really the way to go. This year we’ve put together a pretty sweet collection of massage oils, bath bombs and salts, chocolates and smoke-ables for you to hand curate the perfect cannabis Valentine’s Day gift box. I’m talking to you procrastinators. It’s time to get on it.

Now that we’re in the post-legal world, there are tons more products, and even scientific research coming out about cannabis and the art of love. I mean who wouldn’t want to add a little extra flavor to their business while getting busy? So, here’s 5 reasons why you should add Cannabis to your romance plans this Valentine’s Day.

Cannabis and Sex - 50's Reffer Madness Propaganda

1. Regular Cannabis Use is Linked to More Sex

More is always better, right? A recent study by researchers at Stanford University School of Medicine indicates cannabis use is associated with an increase in sexual frequency. The survey showed folks who use cannabis regularly are having at least 20% more sex than those who abstained. That can’t be a bad thing.

2. It gets your naughty bits high

Yeah. That’s a real thing. Cannabis Lubes, and Cannabis Topical exist. Many products, like Empower 4Play and Apothecanna Sexy Time, are designed specifically for sex, and can have remarkable effects, and if you’re reading this you probably want to know how it feels. One tester described her experience as “a mellow high that felt like a warm, very sexual hug…” Ok, I want to try that.

3. Time slows down – Sex (feels like) lasts longer

A 2010 study by our old friends at the National Institute of Health showed cannabis users claimed that their perception of time was stretched. This is good news for both parties involved! If sex doesn’t last as long as you’d hope, it’ll probably feel like it’s minutes (if not hours) longer.

4. Increased Sensitivity

The same NIH study above showed cannabis users were more relaxed, euphoric and emotionally available after imbibing —all good things in the bedroom. If you think about sex in terms of a massage, you’re more likely to enjoy and benefit from it if you are completely relaxed. Chill.

5. Orgasms are more intense

What’s more crucial than an orgasm? A room shaking, life-changing orgasm, that’s what. Cannabis’ ability to relax, increase sensitivity and slow time can make an orgasm ‘feel’ longer and more amplified. As a ‘cannabis lover’ noted to NY Mag’s Maureen O’Connor, “Pot tends to make time move slowly for me. Orgasms seem to last for 30 seconds and are incredibly intense.

So, whether your pleasure is an edible, topical or smoke-able make sure to add a little cannabis into your Valentine’s Day (and every day!) romance plans. Not only will you enjoy it more, your partner will too.
